Our Mission

Reyn or Shyne’s mission is to lower recidivism in inner-city communities by providing employment training, financial education, and community outreach.

Bringing families together to build community morale is essential to the reentry process. Our reintegration program and youth intervention initiatives are designed to prep individual for financial success and offer employment opportunities

Our plan has three parts.

  • Pre-Release

Reyn or Shyne provides transportation for visiting loved ones in NY state correctional facilities, and helps to maintain family bonds to aid in the restructuring process before release. Strengthening support systems is essential for success after release.

  • Post-Release

Reyn or Shyne will work with individuals after release to help them restructure their lives by providing employment services such as job preparation, coaching, and financial education, as well as peer mentoring, benefits counseling, and mental health support.

  • Preventative

Reyn or Shyne aims to lower recidivism and strengthen community bonds through community outreach and engagement, such as "Smile Back Day" (SB Day), an annual block party and backpack giveaway in East Harlem with free food, entertainment, and school supplies for the community.
